Vayots Dzor Region is famous for its exceptional and  unique  Areni  red grapes. The burning sun and the fresh wind fill the grapes with sweet and unforgettable taste that make the wine of Vayots Dzor region specific and tasteful. The microclimate of mountainous valley situated 1,450 meters above sea level and the fruitful sun stimulate the growth of red and juicy grapes that make the region the leading in wine making. Getnatun LLC is a wine factory located on the bank of Gladzor River in Yeghegnadzor Town, the center of Vayots Dzor.

   Aghasi Baghdasaryan and two other members of his family  established Getnatun factory in 1999. Today, the factory has 7 permanent and several part time wine makers.

   The winery has its own vineyards located in  Vernashen  Village  not  far from Yeghegnadzor. Being comparably young factory, it is very progressive and is established both on local and international markets. The traditions of wine making in the region have passed from generation to generation keeping the secret of Areni wine production. The annual production of the factory in 2001 was 50. 000 bottles of wine. The factory expects to double its production this and the coming year.

   The improvement of wine quality is an ongoing process for wine makers and by the end of the year Getnatun expects to receive a quality certificate from the Russian Federation.
