  •    Ginetas LLC is a small-scale winery located in  Arpi  Town,  Vayots  Dzor Region. Local people call it Gandzak by the name of the wine produced at the winery. The owner and the director of the winery is Vardan Khalatyan, a wine specialist who established the winery in July 1998.

  •    The  activities  of  the  winery  started  with  the   purchase   of   a   village warehouse, which was soon reconstructed into a winemaking facility. The first attempt was to process 38 tons of grapes and to produce 12. 000 bottles of wine. In two years the winery entered the local market and during that period significant improvements have taken place. New oak barrels, filling equipment, and bottles of Euro-standard have been obtained and a new production line has been installed. Currently the company has 12 permanent employees.

  •    The company uses traditional wine production methods as well  as  new production technologies. Recently the winery was repaired and a new building for wine tasting was built.

  •    Ginetas LLC produces red table wine Gandzak  and  natural  semi-sweet wine Arpi using exceptionally Areni grape variety.

  •    Grapes are selected in the fields,  fermented  for  5-10  days.  The  quality wine is separated and the rest is put into the press to receive secondary wine. The wine is kept in the oak barrels and stored in the storage under 14-20° C.

  •    The winery  uses  single  souvenir  wooden  boxes,  one,  three,  and  six bottle souvenir cardboard boxes and 12-bottle cardboard regular boxes for packaging.

  •    Currently  the   annual   production   is   100. 000   bottles   of   wine.   The company intends to increase the annual production up to 200. 000 bottles and add new varieties.

  •    The  production  is  promoted  through  booklets,   brochures,   souvenir packs and Internet. The company’s logo is used on pens, packages, and other stationary for promoting the company’s product.

  •    Russian Tavinko  Company  has  imported  the  company’s  products  to Moscow. Ginetas wines have also been marketed to Riga and to Minsk in 2002. Currently the company is establishing contacts with importers from Beirut.
