The factory is located in Vayots Dzor
Region, in Aghavnadzor Village, 120 km from
Yerevan. The climate and the nature facilitate the growth of
perfect grapes for wine. The factory was established in 2000
at the down part of the village. The facilities are newly
built. Though the factory is under the construction, it is
already well equipped. With the assistance of USDA Marketing
Assistance Project, the factory will soon have a laboratory to
control the wine quality.

The wine is made from Areni
and Voskehat grapes specific
only to Vayots Dzor Region. Ginekar uses the ancient
Armenian recipes to make traditional Armenian wines. The wine
is matured in oak barrels. Ginekar produces three types of
wine: red table wines, white dry wines, and semisweet red
wines that are currently available in the storage.

The factory has not yet entered
the market, but word of
mouth has already created demand for the wines. Its pure
and clean taste attracts the attention of those who try the
wine. With only 4 employees for now, Ginekar is making its
first steps into the market.
