   Just   before   entering    Stepanavan, near a cluster of high-rise apartments a side road takes off N, signposted  for Stepanavan. Passing a military base, you reach the village of Bazum  (till 1978 Bezobdal), with Berdatagh ruined fort on a hill 1.5 km NE.
