At
the dawn of the Noah’s era, the people living in
Ararat Valley already knew how to make wine. This
privileged area is famous for its warm climate, sun,
productive land, and high-yield vineyards. Ararat is the major
agriculturally developed region of Armenia and has always been
one of the suppliers of sweet and juicy grapes.
-
Vedi Alco is located in Ararat Region, Vedu
Ginu Gortsarani Banavan Town, near the Vedi
Village, which
gave birth to the company name. Vedi Alco owns a complex of
three winemaking enterprises, Getap Winery established in
1938, Vedi Winery established in 1956 and Vedi LLC established
in 1993, and employs 600 people. Vedi Alco privatized all
three factories, renewed them and restarted the activities in
1993 with dedication to produce wines of great balance and
style.
-
The
farming program of the winery reflects the long-term
commitment to growing outstanding grapes in the company-owned
vineyards cultivated by around 50 farmers. Vedi Alco also
selectively buys high quality grapes from farmers of the
region, thus assisting in the development of the rural
community.
