VAN 777 LLC is a
newly established small
winery in Taperakan Village, Ararat
Region. The history of the winery started with the purchase of
land in 1995 and the construction of the winery that consists
of 3 grape processing facilities and a cellar. Mr. Mihran
Manaseryan, the director of the winery who is a wine-maker
himself, with 30 employees of the winery produced the first
quantity of wine in 1997.
-
The winery produces red dry, red
semi-sweet, red Muscat liquor and white Muscat liquor
wines from Muscat and Haghtanak grape varieties. Tushpa is a
choice wine of VAN 777, produced from Haghtanak grape, a
crossbreed between French Cabernet and Georgian Saperavi grape
varieties. The company cultivates around 12 hectares of land
to receive high quality grapes for elite wine production.
-
The winery annually produces 80.000
bottles of wine and
has appropriate conditions to double the production, using
Euro standard bottles acquired through the support of USDA
Marketing Assistance Project (MAP). During 2001-2002 the
company has developed new technologies and at present is using
the exact traditional technologies used in the region for
centuries to make pure and ecologically clean wine. For this
reason the company purchases the grapes exceptionally from the
farmers, who provide, fresh and high quality grapes.
-
The nice view of the winery to Ararat Mountain was an
inspiration for Mr. Manaseryan to initiate the creation
of an agri-tourism
center around the winery, which includes artificial lake for
fishing, sport complex, three-room motel and a tasting house
where guests can enjoy the wonderful bouquet of Tushpa and
Muscat wines.
